The organisation runs a series of clubs such as the Gap youth club and Proud Parents and provides 1:1 support to youth, young adults and parents. They aim to provide a safe, social space where members can be themselves without fear or discrimination. They also offer awareness training to schools, colleges & employers: their approach offers simple & practical changes with minimum or zero cost, to start the process of becoming a more inclusive environment.

Free2Be Alliance needs support in developing a strategy for raising unrestricted funds to ensure that they are able to continue their activity. They have been successful in securing restricted funding allowing them to deliver projects but haven't had as much success in generating support for the

Battersea Crime Prevention Panel - aims to make Battersea and Balham a better and safer place to live, work and play. A principle project is the Battersea Summer Scheme which has been organising trips, outings and events for under-priviledged young people since 1992, especially those living in the poorer and most disadvantaged areas of Battersea and Balham.

The Battersea Crime Prevention Panel is looking for a company secretary to help ensure that the charity is completely up to date and operating at the highest standards. This person will join the board of Trustees and assist with steering organisational strategy.

The Battersea Summer Scheme needs assistance in creating a simple wordpress website for the Battersea Ball, the largest annual fundraising ball in Battersea that raises funds for youth activities in Battersea and Balham. Information on the Ball is currently located on the Battersea Summer Scheme

Organise an event

25-30 hours over 4-6 months
Wandsworth Mediation Service - provides mediation services to those in conflict in our community. Mediation is an opportunity to come together, discuss issues, and arrive at agreed solutions, with the help of trained volunteer mediators. Community mediations include neighbour disputes, inter-generational (eg between children living with their parents) and family disputes (eg access to children). Set up in 2004, Wandsworth Mediation Services has helped hundreds of people reach peaceful agreements with their neighbours and families. The organisation also runs conflict awareness courses in the community eg for housing officers and teachers and in schools they teach students how to mediate conflicts giving them life changing skills to help them resolve conflict around them.

Wandsworth Mediation Service is looking to hold a fundraising event to help ensure that they can continue to provide mediation sevices free of charge for those who need them. They are looking for an experienced events manager who can help them develop the idea from inception and assist in managing

Data cleansing support

Home-Start Wandsworth - supports families with a child under 5 years who are experiencing a range of difficulties. The Scheme trains volunteers to visit families in their home or Family Hubs to provide practical and emotional support. Key projects are: Home visiting, Family Hubs, Bump to baby and Volunteer training and development.

The charity works with 8 - 19 year olds who have been excluded from school or are at risk of exclusion. They aim to develop their self-confidence, personal and social skills, empowering them to return to more full time, mainstream education. They currently deliver 5 projects to achieve this; a two half day social development project, mentoring, a youth cafe, residentials and a youth football team.

Future Skills uses social media and e-newsletters to engage their users and supporters and would like to make sure that they are doing this in the best way possible. They are looking for someone to review and assess their current approaches, including their visuals and language, and develop a

The scheme is delivered thanks to the generosity of small independent businesses who offer the discounts and gifts free of charge. Discounts are sourced from the small local businesses and local charities are informed about the scheme so that their volunteers can apply for the card. The aim of the scheme is to strengthen local communities by providing positive recognition to volunteers, bring the charitable and business sectors together and encourage volunteers to visit independent high street businesses.

Assist with designing and implementing a corporate relationships campaign to generate private sector income, service opportunities or benefits. Work closely with CEO to develop messaging and identify and develop positive relationships with relevant and interested corporates.

Create a community directory

Katherine Low Settlement - has been dedicated to tackling poverty and building a stronger community in Battersea for over 90 years. Their projects support children and families, older people, newly-arrived communities as well as assisting the development of other charities.

Develop an online directory and map of facilities, buildings and services that benefit local people in Battersea.

Produce a short video

South West London Law Centre (SWLLC) - provides legal advice and assistance in the social welfare law fields of debt, employment, immigration, housing and welfare rights.
