Generate is looking for a Treasurer to join their Board of Trustees. This role will support and advise the Chief Executive and be a pro-active positive board member. This role will also assist in developing the Finance Manager to ensure that the finances are well managed and fit for purpose.

We're looking for someone who has financial expertise in the charitable or business sectors, who can support Generate to be financially stable and robust and to work to deliver the future vision of the organisation. We are looking for someone with sound accounting and finance skills and experience, particularly in converting financial reports into clear and meaningful reports that are accessible to the 'layman'. In addition, knowledge of governance, compliance and legal requirements and the ability to translate these into balanced and pragmatic advice would be helpful. It would be ideal if this person also had experience of improving financial and operating processes so that Generate efficiently uses its resources. The ability to create simple and meaningful monthly financial reports is important. Finally, this person should have a positive approach and be open to innovation and creativity. You need to be able to commit to 10 board meetings per year (held from 6.30-9pm usually on Thursday evenings) plus 1 to 2 hours per month to read papers and information. In addition, you will need to attend a yearly AGM and a board development day.
